22 Diligence
and Profit
It is certainly not a rule
that rich people are hard workers. Some
inherit their money. Others stumble across
one good idea. Still others got where they
are by riding on the coattails of other
successful people.
But hard work usually pays
off. We aren't told that we'll become rich
from our hard work. In fact we aren't even
promised money at all. A profit can mean
nothing more than we will see a return for our
efforts. It might be in a relationship or
it could be an investment in someone's life.
Those who are hasty don't
think things through. They have no plan
and do things on a whim. There are very
few people who can fly by the seat of their
pants and get away with it. Even these
people will likely see a better return for their
time or money if they spend the time planning
carefully what they will do.
Planning doesn't guarantee
success. God has to be in it as we learn
from other Proverbs. However hard work and
planning will lead to a better result than doing
nothing and leaving things happen by chance. |
