19 Man's
Plans
Proverbs 16:3 instructs us to commit our
plans to the Lord and they will succeed.
We must carefully examine our plans however.
We have dreams for ourselves, our children, and
our grandchildren. But are they in
alignment with what God wants for us?
Theologians disagree as to
how much free will man has. Some argue
that man can choose as he desires because God
has set things in motion and awaits His ultimate
plan to be fulfilled.
On the other extreme there
are those who believe God controls every aspect
of our lives right down to whether we sneeze or
not. Both views are on the extremes and
the truth likely lays in between.
We can rest assured that
God's plans will not be thwarted however.
The battle between good and evil is often
thought of as a struggle but in reality it is no
contest. God is going to accomplish what
He desires and the outcome is never in question.
If we wish to see our
plans succeed we would do well to ask God for
guidance and make sure what we desire is also
what He desires. When they are aligned we
can expect God to do great things with our plans. |
