10 Walking
Wisely
Perhaps the most famous of
all parenting phrases is "If so and so jumped
off a cliff, would you do it too?" While
this is completely absurd it underscores the
importance of the people around us and the
amount of influence they have upon us.
If you want to grow in
your Christian walk there a many ways to do so.
Reading devotions, studying your Bible, and
praying are all valuable parts of the Christian
life. Perhaps the easiest thing you can do
to help your walk with God is to spend more time
with other Christians.
If you don't make it to
church regularly, make it a priority to attend a
service sometime in the week, even if it can't
be Sunday morning. If you attend
regularly, join a small group whether it's a
Bible study, book club or men's breakfast.
We don't have to be doing
"church" things in the fellowship of other
Christians in order for this to have a positive
impact on us. Conversation topics will
tend to be more wholesome. Encouragement
will be given. Motivation and inspiration
will be shared.
We still have a
responsibility to reach the world so we can't
cut ourselves off from it. But when it
comes to our walk with God we will find our
lives are enhanced by the more time we spend
with other Christians who are serious about
their walk with the Lord. |
