| October 24 Time for
Harvest It is easy to become
discouraged as Christians. Not even
pastors are immune to this. Paul
encourages the Galatians to not grow weary in
their Christian faith however. There are times
in life that we wonder if we are making any
impact as Christians. We talk to people
who have no interest in coming to church.
We pray and it feels as if our prayers are not
answered. We must not give up however.
Paul writes that at the proper time we will reap
a harvest. This requires
patience.
Our hard work and perseverance will pay off
eventually. We can't truly know what impact
our actions may have. Occasionally we see
immediate results but more often than not, we
only plant a seed with our actions. Seeds
are not ready for harvest immediately but
instead must be nurtured and grown into
maturity. When we are faithful to whatever
task God has called us to, we will eventually
find reward in it. It may not come as
expected, nor may it be as quickly as we hoped
for. Faithful work for God will see a
harvest in the end however. |
