Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit
is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there is no
law.

October 21 Fruit of
the Spirit - Faithfulness
When faithfulness is thought of, dogs are
likely to come to mind. These animals are
obedient and loyal to their master because their
master takes care of them.
This is the quality that we strive for as
Christians. Our Master always takes care
of us, it's just that sometimes we take God's
goodness for granted and forget about it.
Our faithfulness goes in two directions.
First and foremost, we are faithful to God.
We follow His commands and are devoted to His
work. We are faithful to the church and to
winning the lost for Christ.
We are also faithful in our dealings with
other people. When we say that we are
going to do something, we are good to our word.
We do not go back on promises that we made or
change to whatever is most convenient at the
moment.
We have the greatest example of faithfulness
to model ourselves after. Jesus was
faithful to His Father's will to the very end.
Even though it meant that He would die on the
cross, Jesus remained faithful to His purpose on
earth and to the will of God. |
