Thanks for Righteous Laws

Nobody really enjoys having to follow the rules all of the time.  Pay close attention on the highway to how many people instinctively hit their brakes when they see a police car, regardless whether they are speeding or not.  Our defenses go up even if we are following the law when we are around law enforcement.

Everyone is judged by the same standard, a person is either breaking the law or they are not.  But what if the laws were unrighteous?  There are instances of race being involved in arrest and public outcry is justified in these instances.

God's laws are always right however.  They are applied evenly to everyone.  But what is even greater is that God's laws always have our best intentions in mind.  They are designed to protect us, not take away our fun.

Unfortunately some people see God as a cosmic killjoy who wants to ruin their good time.  But nothing could be further from the truth.  God's laws are there so that we may live life to the fullest and experience all of the joy of life.

Those who appear to find joy in breaking God's laws quickly find themselves feeling empty inside.  Whatever joy they receive from the moment quickly leaves them.

The joy that comes from knowing God and following His righteous laws will not go away.  We can be very thankful for that.
