Thanks for Enduring Love

"His love endures forever" is one of the most common phrases in all of the Bible.  It is repeated in Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah, and numerous Psalms and is a refrain for several of them.

This makes God's enduring love an important theme in the Bible.  Our love is mostly conditional.  We love someone as long as they love us back.  We love something until it falls out of fashion or becomes old and worn.  Even marriage vows that are meant to be unconditional are quickly broken when a couple can no longer get along with one another.

But God's love is enduring.  It stands the test of time.  It does not fade when we don't love the Lord like we should.  There are no strings attached that will cause God to remove His favor from us.  It is an unconditional, enduring love.

The other great thing about enduring love is that there is nothing we can do to cause God to love us more.  Jesus died for all sinners, not just "good" ones.  God loves us even when we are being sinful.

This doesn't mean that our sin doesn't affect our relationship with God, it definitely does.  But it means there is nothing that we can do that will cause God to love us any less as far as salvation is concerned.  This is something to be truly thankful for.
