8 Thanks in Worship
As has been discussed earlier, praise and
thanksgiving are similar in that they both
recognize God for who He is and what He does.
Often the two overlap in our worship of God.
Still there are other times that thanks has
been removed from worship when it should not.
In times of prayer this happens especially.
We are told that we should go to God with all
kinds of prayers and requests - both the big
things and little things. But so often we
forget to thank God once those prayers have been
answered.
God doesn't ever become overburdened with our
prayers but our relationship with God is just
like any other relationship; it will suffer if
it is one sided. We should never stop
taking our prayer requests to the Lord but we
should be mindful of the many prayers that have
been answered already and thank God for them. |
