7 God's Name in Thanksgiving
God gives us many names throughout the Bible.
Each of these names tells us something about the
nature of God. To know someone's name is
to have a personal connection with them and to
have knowledge of them.
To praise God's name is to praise God
personally. We don't worship a far off God
but one who hears us and supplies our needs.
One of the names given to us in the Bible is
Jehovah Jireh in Hebrew. It means the Lord
will provide. Abraham first used this name
when the Lord provided a ram for sacrifice
instead of Abraham's son Isaac.
We should have no trouble thanking God for
what He has done when we recognize from the
start that He is the provider of all that we
