We live by faith, not by sight.

Faith, Not Sight
Most Christians are familiar with the story of
Thomas, forever known as Doubting Thomas.
He refused to believe in Jesus' resurrection
until he saw the scars in Jesus' hands and side.
Jesus commends future Christians who will
believe without the benefit of actually seeing
Jesus. We follow a man based on events
that happened 2,000 years ago. We choose
to believe the testimony of those who have
written about the life of Jesus.
This doesn't mean that our faith is without
reason. Faith without reason is believing
something like that trees get up and walk around
at night and return to their spot just before
anyone sees them. There is reason to
believe in everything that is recorded in the
Bible and there is reason to trust in Jesus.
While we have evidence to believe what we
believe - the lives that have been changed by
Jesus are our biggest proof - we will never have
completely concrete evidence. We don't
have the benefit of seeing Jesus after His
resurrection. And so we must have faith
and believe the accounts that are handed down to
us in the Bible. |
