Wearing Out
The reality of life is that things wear out.
While many things come with a lifetime warranty,
no one expects things to last forever.
Jesus instructs us to store up treasures in
heaven because if we invest our time and energy
in earthly things they will pass away with time.
There are times that it is appropriate to buy
new things. Other times we should make an
effort to fix what we already have. Still
there are other times when we would do best to
do without something once its lifespan has
passed.
When it is time to replace something with
something new is a totally subjective thing.
A person who can fix their own car is better off
repairing a vehicle than a person who would have
to pay a mechanic a lot of money.
Other people who may be better off financially
may be willing to part with an item that has
some life left in it so that someone else who
cannot afford a new one may benefit from it.
Whatever our situation may be, we should see
that God is glorified with our choices. He
does not want us to be wasteful with what He has
given us. |
