August is a month
when most people think about vacations, laying
by the pool, and generally avoiding the heat and
work. Even God rested on the seventh day
of creation, so no one can fault us for taking a
break now and then.
When you do get
back to work you'll find that God has gifted
each of us specifically to do His work.
Spiritual gifts are a sticky subject in a number
of churches but we're not talking about
controversial ones like speaking in tongues and
miracles. Instead we will look at gifts like that of
service, teaching, and faith which are all
identified by Paul in the New Testament.
We'll also look at some gifts like that of
craftsmanship and music that appear in the Old
Testament as well.
