1 Corinthians 12:15-16
If the
foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do
not belong to the body," it would not for that
reason cease to be part of the body. And if the
ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do
not belong to the body," it would not for that
reason cease to be part of the body.

You Belong
Perhaps it is human nature to
assume that whatever we feel is most important
is the most important to everyone. We make
this mistake in the church as well.
Because God has gifted us
differently there is a tendency to assume that
whatever we're not interested in isn't as
important. But just because we
believe in strong teaching does not mean that
acts of compassion and mercy should be
neglected.
We can't say that another
person's gifts are unimportant any more than we
should be able to decide that a foot or an eye
is unimportant.
No matter what your gift is,
God has given it to you to use for His glory.
There have been too many churches that have
neglected certain gifts due to someone in charge
forgetting about balance. But there have
been many other Christians who have removed
themselves from service because they feel as if
their gifts are not appreciated or wanted.
God doesn't make crippled
churches - people cripple them. We can
complain about what is wrong with the church or
we can just go out and use our gifts to the best
of our ability. The choice is up to us. |
