There are
different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
There are different kinds of service, but the
same Lord. There are different kinds of
working, but the same God works all of them in
all men.

We're all different
In 1939 the Wizard of Oz
debuted. Viewers who had been subjected to
black and white movies were suddenly treated
with color. The movie world was exciting,
colorful, and new.
If believers all had the same
spiritual gifts it would be like living in a
world of black and white. Sure it might be
functional but there'd be so much we would miss
out on.
Church services tend to be
two parts - instruction and worship. Take
away one part of the service and the whole thing
suffers. But most often the sermon isn't
presented by the same person who leads the
music.
God gifted each person
differently but they work for the same purpose,
in this case making a church service complete.
Both are important and both are gifts of God but
they are very different. |
